In 1997 I was sent by my company to attend a seminar on future coal sales in Istanbul Republic of Turkey. We stayed at Hyatt Hotel near Bosphorus Straits, the view very beautiful especially at night time.
Istanbul is located in the north west Marmara Region of Turkey, most populous city . It’s surrounded by Sea of Marmara, the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus and the Black sea.

Istanbul are on the Bosphorus Straits divide two continents, European (Thrace) on the west side and Asian (Anatolia) on the east side, some people live in Asia side but work in European side. Bosphorus straits connected by the suspension bridge the Bosphorus Bridge.
We also visited Sultan Ahmed Mosque(A National Mosque of Turkey in Istanbul) known as Blue Mosque with six minarets, Topkapi Palace( a former palace of Ottoman Empire), the Grand Bazaar (a largest covered market in the world with more than 58 street and 4000 shops) , Fatih Mosque and the Hagia Sophia (is a former patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, now a museum).
