We went to Sandviken(as Sandviken means the sandy bay) a municipality in Gavleborg Country in east central Sweden, we went thru Uppsala the fourth largest city in Sweden. When we reached Gavle City, we deviated from main highway. We stayed in Grand Central Hotel, Gavle, Sweden before we continue our trip to Sandviken.
In Sandviken we visited Sandvik a Swedish company founded in 1862 in Sandviken It is a high technology engineering group and a world leader in tooling, material technology, mining and construction. Most of the facilities were automated and controlled by Computer.
They had a burning furnace to burn the scrap material to make steel bar, the atmosphere were clean because they installed the special equipment to purified the air, so it won’t polluted the area..
We stayed at the Guesthouse nearby the factory, looked like a bungalow with 5 stars hotel facilities, surrounding with apples trees where we could eat it as much as we can, bloomed flowers, it was nice and clean.
What we could learn from this are the heavy industries are not always caused pollution as long as we follow the rule and regulation, applied friendly environment technology to reduce the pollution.
We left Stockholm thru Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
