Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance
Shrine of Remembrance is located at St Kilda Road, 10 menit by tram from Flinders Station,this place to comemmorate the man and women of Australian heros, and the site of annual observance of ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.


Shrine of Remembrance has a good landscape laying on the green grass field and so contrast with surrounding,so when you drive along St.Kilda road from Flinders Street Station toward the St.Kilda beach you will see the Big Shrine at the left hand side.
When we were at Melbourne we passed the Shrine everyday because the location of our house just opposite the Shrine at St.Kilda road.
During Office Hours a lot of students visited the Shrine to learn about the history and to salute the men and women who died during the World War.
A War Memorial was put forward as soon as the war ended in 1918.The design of the proposed Shrine was based on the ancient Tomb of Mausolus (the Mausoleum) at Halicarnassus,one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Shrine has been the center of war commemorating in Melbourne, although Remembrance Day (11 Nov) the official day to commemorating the war heroes,it has been gradually eclipsed in the public estimation by ANZAC DAY on 25 April.
