Cheap Holidays – South Africa and the US
Author: Gill Critchley
An industry expert has advised holidaymakers seeking bargain breaks to head to Eastern Europe, South Africa and the US.
The reason for this is that, in these destinations, the sterling exchanges favourably, in fact the industry expert has said that in all destinations that still have their own currency are becoming more and more popular to tourists who are looking for cheap holidays .
People travelling to these destinations find that they are getting better value for their pound against the local currency.
Holidaymakers are looking for alternative holiday destinations that may be a cheaper option to the once popular European holidays . This is due to the pound falling against the Euro; holidays in Europe can be a lot more expensive than they once were.
According to the Post Office’s research, the pound is now worth 17 per cent less against the Euro than it was in the same month last year.
According to the expert, the pound has remained strong against the dollar. This continued level has meant that summer breaks in the US have become very popular. This popularity is due to people getting a good deal and being able to find cheap holidays that are becoming more and more difficult to find in Europe.
An example of this is that for a 3 night stay in a five star hotel in New York during peak summer holiday season will cost you £579 per person and for the same in Portugal, you will pay £657 per person. This £78 difference is an example of why holidaymakers are searching elsewhere for bargain breaks.
