Slank Indonesian Rock n Roll Band held a concert at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park) in East Jakarta, on the night of 20th of May to commemorate 100th years of National Awakening.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a beautiful recreation park and also for education in flora and fauna,history and Technology as well.Taman Mini Indonesia Indah equipped with Three Dimension Theatre, IMAX Keong Mas Theatre, Mono Rail, Cable Car and other kind of transportation.

The concert which was titled “Konser Slank: Bangkit Indonesia!” was broadcasted live nation-wide on TV One. I think in some part of the globe the people could watch it by using satellite decoder.

Slank concert were attended by thousands of fans which were called Slankers with their very own proud Slankissme. They enjoyed the music sung by their idols and sang along together with their high-spirited enthusiasm that was bubbling over through out the concert. Slank was established in Jakarta.

Slank performed the sweet music or love music, this is made the Slankers a bit calm and soft atmosphere. Slank didn’t sing the road song lyrics as usual.

Slank also performed some national songs related to Indonesian Heroic during the Independence War but they slightly changed the rhythm from slow to Rock as their band’s characteristic. Slank hold the National Flag Red and White.Beside Slank, the concert was filled with Poetry reading by W.S. Rendra the famous Indonesian Actor and also by Bunda Iffet (Bim Bim’s mother).

In that occasion Slank rolled out their new Website at http://www.slank.com rich of red color as a symbol of braveness that represents Slank’s bold statement against corruptions, manipulations, and bribery, such epidemics that swarm the nation.We are in sadness to see what had happened to our country but we have to go on. Even Slank were threatened to be sued at the court because of their lyrics.

The website was fully supported by a group of young talented Indonesian in Information Technology and Multimedia.

The concert ended with proud nationalism and no incident occurred. We should hold thumbs up to Slankers with their highly regarded Slankissme and Security Guards including the Indonesian Police and Army.
